Cleaning Strings with an Ultrasonic Cleaner

Tried something a little different today, compared with the boiling that lots of people do. Can you hear a difference?

Did you use water in the ultrasonic cleaner?

Iso-propyl alcohol might be good, depending on how much your cleaner holds.

Check if it's a fire hazard if used in a such a cleaner, though!

I used water with a little bit of washing up liquid, then did it again with just water. I am thinking of having a container of isopropyl alcohol around to soak strings in though!

I use an ultrasonic cleaner with methylated spirits.....does a better job than boiling your strings.

I left some old strings overnight in a container with some isopropyl alcohol, wow what a difference, like new again, but I don't know for how long.
