Chopthebass Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 Although I would probably get an extra dummy knob added, just in case you want to mess with it later on. Quote

PatrickJ Posted February 14, 2020 Author Posted February 14, 2020 (edited) Speaking with Jon this week I'm hoping I might get my hands on it next Friday, exactly 13 months after my initial query to Jon about having a custom instrument made for me. Edited February 14, 2020 by PJ-Bassist 2 Quote
JottoSW1 Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Luscious. Congrats. Wish I could afford one. Quote
honza992 Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 I've got so much respect for Jon Shuker, he really does lovely work. And not a CNC in site. Old Skool craftsmanship..... 2 Quote
PatrickJ Posted February 21, 2020 Author Posted February 21, 2020 (edited) It's a lovely instrument, very well balanced, light and super comfy to play. Jon has done a great job and he's a really nice guy. Specifications of the bass: - Alder body with English Elm Burr drop top - Birdseye Maple fingerboard on a maple neck - 40mm neck width at nut, 19mm string spacing at bridge - ABM single string bridge pieces - Schaller Light Weight Tuners - Aaron Armstrong Handwound J pickups - Norstrand 2B Pre-Amp - Luminlay Side Dots I may try a few different pickups to see what I like best, I'm tempted by some Nordstrand J Blades. However, I'm also wondering whether I should have just gone for Soapbar pickups. I mentioned it to Jon today when I collected the bass and he said it would be no problem to re-route the pickups if I wanted to. Edited February 21, 2020 by PJ-Bassist Quote

In fact I may have to print that picture out at A2, then enroll as a student again just so I can put it as a poster on my bedroom wall Stunning. 1 Quote
