Steve Browning Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 Not a great fan of the genre but did like Firestarter. 1 Quote
Marky L Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 What!?!? 😧 I do like a bit of Prodigy to get me going sometimes. Sad news. Quote
2elliot Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 (edited) Very sad. One of the best live performances I have ever seen... R.I.P. Edited March 4, 2019 by 2elliot 1 Quote
Teebs Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 Great shame Saw them at V'97 and although I hadn't been a fan previously, they were amazing. Very sad. Quote
upside downer Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 This news is no good. Start the dance. RIP Firestarter 😞 Quote

Barking Spiders Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 Just saw this on the BBC News site. Being a massive fan of all things techno and of The Prodge this has come right out of the leftfield. A big, sad shame as KF was the face of the band and spooked a generation of parents of teens with the Firestarter vid. Saw the band 4 times and KF was a top frontman. Not sure they can carry on after this Quote
TheGreek Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 48??? No age at all.... To take his own life he must have been troubled...at least he isn't suffering any more.. 1 Quote
burno70 Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 Ah sad news. I absolutely loved their first couple of albums and seen them a good few times back in day. RIP. Quote
Guest subaudio Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 Just seen the news, the Prodigy icon has passed away at just 49. Terribly sad news. Quote
Grassie Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 Lucky enough to see them 3 times. Whether you like them or not, Flint was an iconic frontman and an electrifying performer. A very sad loss. Quote
fleabag Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 Wasnt a fan of the band or Flint, till he got involved in Superbike racing. Respect went way up. Shame indeed Quote
bubinga5 Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 (edited) Am I right in saying this was suicide.? Sorry didn't read all of the posts. Edited March 4, 2019 by bubinga5 Quote
Lozz196 Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 Very sad, seems to be on the increase as well, the last few years, late 40s/early 50s rockers taking their own lives. Quote
Heathy Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 The Prodigy at Brixton in 97 was the only gig I've been to where it felt like the bass had rearranged my internal organs. Keith Flint was an outstanding frontman and will be sadly missed. Quote
Mudpup Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 Not my usual sort of band but they were amazing at what they did. I wish i'd seen them live. My missus used to buy sweets from his parents sweet shop in Braintree and he used to go to the pictures with her and her mates - she said he was always really nice. So sad.... Quote
madshadows Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Sad news, such an original front man, thoughts are with his family, friends and band mates John Quote
Deanol Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Never a fan of the band or that type of music, but it is so desperately sad when someone takes their own life. I wish he (and the thousands of others who do that each year) could have spoken to someone to get help. I don't know the circumstances in this case, but whilst ringing the Samaritans might have helped, many never pick up the phone, or try to get help. Never even think about it sadly. I also feel sorry for those left behind, who will question whether they could have helped him more. It's a terrible, terrible shame. 1 Quote
