So I took the plunge Into having a go. Jazz was a swap Ash factory second which has been abused with their sander and seemed unsellable so I picked it up for very little cost. bit of sanding TLC and a blowtorch stain with tea then with wire wool soaked in vinegar finish with Gun oil Quite happy for a first job. Black hardware and a maple neck and SJB quarter pounders to be added, will see if it sounds OK and will post up the finish
