Peavey Zodiac DE Scorpio - opinions please.

Hi,

I'm still searching for a half-decent P/J bass. The G&L SB-2 is a possibility. I've just come across this:

Peavey Zodiac DE Scorpio with solid alder body and Seymour Duncan quarter pounders. New for £214, including delivery. :) I'm a bit of a fan of Peaveys - I have an '87 Fury which is a storming J bass.

All opinions of the Zodiac DE scorpio gratefully received.

Thanks,

Steve

Yes - I'd seen this. It appears not to have the S/D Quarter Pounders, however, which surely would be pretty desirable over the stock Peavey pups?

Never believe what's on a website!

I rang them. Price is £290 with Seymour Duncan quarter-pounders, £214 with stock Peavey pups. Thought it looked a good deal...
Ok, if you´re still looking for a P/J, let me recommend the Yamaha BB414.

Quality bass, excellent sound and workmanship. Much better than"half decent". :)
I completely agree. My first ever bass was a BB404 - brilliant. Sold it when I bought my Tokai Hardpuncher P-bass. Actually, I'm having some 1970's Fender pups put into the Tokai in an effort to move it a little more towards a J tone, while retaining it's P bottom.

Is this the one designed by Dave Ellefson (formerly of Megadeth)?

He designed it, but doesn't use it. So if it's not good enough for him, it's not good enough for me :)
