la bam
Hi all, Its along long time since I bought separate parts to build a bitsa. What are the main websites to buy a natural p bass body and fitting neck from nowadays? I already have the other parts covered.

I knew they did graphite necks but was not aware they sold bodies and they could be a bit expensive for a bitsa....?

Cuzzie
Trawl fleabay, bumtree, Facebook, reverb, here, preloved. Obviously the ones mentioned above are cool Depends how quick you need to make it and how fussy you are. There are some incredible deals out there. The last P I did I got from the guy for postage only as it needed a repair, the Jazz I am finishing was a factory second that just needs more careful sanding so cost about £40. For me it meant I could mess about an not care effing it up!
itu
No bodies, only necks, sorry. But very good necks!
Aidan63
there's a natural p bass body on ebay at the moment https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Glorious-New-old-stock-Mighty-Mite-Fender-Precision-bass-body-made-in-USA/163601380036?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144 same seller has two necks listed Edited March 19, 2019 by Aidan63 added detail
thebrig
I can recommend the bodies that Northwest Guitars sell, they are fully finished for just £159, I have had a sunburst and an olympic white one and the quality of the finish is fantastic. yorks5stringer
Or buy a Harley Benton and ditch the hardware..or even one of their kits? I guess an idea of your budget would be helpful too? Edited March 20, 2019 by yorks5stringer

I'm looking for a cheap neck at the moment so I looked on those sites. Good grief! Over £300 for just a neck! There's too much money in the world (and not enough of it in my pocket). thebrig
Personally, I think £159 for a brand new beautifully finished body is an absolute steal, its nice to start off with a really nice body imo, because it inspires you to get the best parts you can afford within your budget and go on to create a really nice build. Here's my sunburst "bitsa" which has a lovely Mighty Mite Jazz neck fitted, it plays better than my 2016 Fender American Standard and sounds every bit as good for a fraction of the cost. 😋
Cuzzie
If you fancied a P bass Lyte neck (different dimensions to standard fender) I got one lying around
la bam
Cheers all. I'll have a look through those. So many options to go through!
