This is a VERY nice bass indeed...played it briefly when I collected a bass from @Slimbo late last week. This has given me Yamaha GAS - if I wasn't trying to downsize (believe that, you'll believe anything) I'd be on this. A steal at the advertised price.

Quick bit of advice though...when you collect, MIND THE LOW DOOR!! I bashed my head:facepalm:

...and don't forget to take a screwdriver to steal a village sign... @Slimbo lives in the village of WOOTTEN.

I've had one of these, in lake placid blue, for ooh about 18 years or so. It was my first decent bass and I consider myself fortunate to have had such a good instrument to develop on.

I’ve got a BBG4AII. I’m not sure how it differs from this model, but it’s a great bass indeed. This one here is a bargain.

I was curious too, so I did some research. Found this PDF according to which the only difference appears to be the range of finishes available: the "A" comes in amber burst, aqua marine and trans red, whereas the "S" is available in sunburst, lake placid blue, pearl snow white and black.

My first proper bass! But in white. Stupidly stripped it down to the wood, defretted it and put a trem system onto it! Then sold it on ebay for 80 quid!

Seem to remember it as being brilliant!
