Old, alright. And check the tailpiece made from a gate latch!! Not even MDP could come up with that one!! Or could he?

And who is/was 'the renagade'? Anyone know?

Old Kay Bass

That's the standard bridge on one of those. They're normally covered up...

What the actual F?? It looks like a gate-latch!

As a bass these old Kay's are total rubbish, the pickup is microphonic. However, run it into fuzz or overdrive and these are super fun to play, they suddenly come to life and work great in a garage rock band. Nothing else.

Agreed, mine is pretty horrible. However it does have one good sound in it which none of my others can produce. Weirdly I always end up playing Seven Nation Army whenever I pick it up which is a hateful dirge at best!

My first electric was the six string version, I still have it.

I fitted a tune-o-matic bridge and got rid of the 'tremelo' and added various switches.

As stated above, put it through ridiculous amounts of distortion and you get wails of feedback and a sound Neil Young would die for...

The body is undersize, only 1" thick, and plywood. The tuners are three-to a plate acoustic ones.

It's lovely to play too, with 008s on it 🙂
