Wireless on pedalboards ... Power / Noise issues

Recommended Posts

If I add a Line 6 G50 first in line to my pedal board is it likely to add noise into the signal chain?

I would rather not have to use two power supplies if at all possible... what are the reasonably priced option?

Thanks Ade

I can’t speak for the G50 but much like Les I’ve had a G30 on my pedalboard for years. Theres no noise at all.

For power I’m using the Diago Micropower9 to power everything. Not the cheapest but it’s small, tidy and noise-free.

I also use a G30 with no noise. Everything off the same power supply.

BUT I had noise added in a different room when using the same setup. Only when using the G30 and only when using the shared power supply. It really depends on your power supply and the quality of the wiring in the room, I have found.

I had noise using a G50 and a Zoom B3n off a shared (daisy-chained) power supply - that's the B3n being fussy about sharing a power supply though. I used a Vitoos Iso8 power supply, which sorted it out.

Think it should be ok provided you have isolated power supplies like the Trex or something similar. Don't daisy chain as that can cause problems with several pedals.
