MrV the grin
Anyone ever used a Marshall Bluesbreaker as a gigging bass amp? Somebody borrowed my TC rig and for want of a practice amp I plugged into my Bluesbreaker. It sounded awesome!! Such a warm and natural sound. They are loud amps, which I know from playing guitar, but I don't know how they would fare at gig volume with a low B on the five string rattling through it. 3below
Have used my Fender Super 60 1x12 valve guitar combo for recording bass. Obviously no earth shaking volume but a really good warm tone.
Bill Fitzmaurice
Play it at war volume and your Bluesbreaker will be a Bluesbroken. It won't bother the amp but the speakers won't take it.
MrV the grin
Hmmm, that's what I was thinking. Shame though, sounds so good.

MrV the grin
You know what, you might be on to something there 3below. I may have a go at unplugging the speakers and running it through a couple of different bass cabs.
Bill Fitzmaurice
You could use it in a dual amp setup, along with a regular bass amp and speakers. Turn the bass EQ on the Marshall all the way down, and the mid and high EQ on the bass amp all the way down.
MrV the grin
Bass EQ on the Marshall all the way down??????? Where's the fun in that? That might be an ok scenario if I were playing stadium gigs and the tech was setting up and lugging my stuff about, but I am trying to keep the set up a little bit more minimal. Your suggestion is, however, noted sir.
