Have a look at this link on Ebay for a Musicman. Look at the shot of the head. It just looks wrong. The sticker is different to normal. Also the body looks a bit thin. Anyone else think it looks a bit odd.

I can't see enough of the bass in sufficient detail to be sure, but there's nothing at the moment which is raising any alarm bells for me.

No. Pre EB headstock logo + wrong bridge + wrong truss rod bolt
I might be wrong but don't think so

Fake, fake, fake.

Headstock is the wrong shape for starters and they stopped using that logo years ago.

EDIT: they stopped using that logo in 1985

Pickup looks suspect also - shouldn't the mounting points be on the sides of the pickup (1 on one side, 2 on the other) instead of the top (and presumably bottom) of the pickup as shown in the bass in question?

Definitely a fake, not even a particularly good copy although the body shape is better than a lot of other copies I’ve seen. Everything that’s wrong has been mentioned above, and I’m sure there are other things that I’ve not spotted yet. Has anyone contacted the seller?

:) yeah me too, I've just asked for higher resolution pictures to be sent to my email address. We'll see what happens...

Agreed with previous comments - bridge is wrong, logo is wrong, trussrod is wrong.

Bridge suggests it's an OLP bass but the pickup looks wrong as neepheid has correctly pointed out.

Stay away imo

I've reported it to eBay. I'm going to be mean spirited and assume that the seller knows damn well what he/she is doing.

I don't think I have ever seen a Stingray with "100% Genuine" on it, that makes me think the seller knows what he/she is doing.

Blimey. I am quite proud in seeing what I thought was a fake Musicman on Ebay. I wonder if this would convince my wife that as I know all about them I should own one :) I also hope that it has saved someone from being ripped of.

I've just asked for picture of the back of the body, the neck plate and the back of the headstock. I bet I don't get them

It comes with fretted or fretless neck, standard or piezo bridge as well.
Not bad eh!
The screw pattern on the pickups look the same or at least similar to Riverhead 5 string MM styled bass i had.The screws on the Sterling at least are 2 at the top,one at the bottom.Well, they are on mine.Oh sugar, does that mean mines a fake and they should like the one here.
