Wood Sources

Having just bought some wood for something new, or more like, bought some wood because I found it (giant redwood), where do people get their wood from?

There are a lot of online places and eBay. We have a local woodmerchant but their stuff is quite expensive. Handy in that you can pick stuff, but probably too expensive for me until I get better!

So who is good?

I get mine in France, to a really nice supplier, prices are really decent and service is top. He makes all my pieces on my dimensions without any charge. The website doesn't represent the actual stock, he always has more in stock.

He's got a lot of exotic hardwoods incl. Bubinga, Wengé, Ovengkol, Padauk, Amaranth, Rosewood, Ebony, Macassar Ebony, Thuya Burl, Ziricote, Cocobolo, but also some more "common" species like Flamed Ash, Spruce, Flamed/birdseye/Quilt maple, Poplar Burl, European Walnut... etc... and the list goes one.
