Works with Apple and Windows. Check for DAW compatibility. (I took a flyer and it works fine so far with Reaper).

14-day free trial, no restrictions.

Nice sound, flexible, slightly arty UI.

A very nice, free Spring Reverb from 'Klanghelm'. It's a direct download, no email address or sign up required. Also, not a download manager in sight.

👍:D

Klanghelm

Thanks for the heads up, I've just downloaded their free saturation plugin IVGI and I'll give it a try later.

'Monster Ethnica' - A free VST Rompler containing an Ethnic/World Instruments library.

The good bit...No email or download manager required and comes in under two gigs.

All the download and install instructions are pretty straight forward and are on the website of the developer.

Not sure if it's been mentioned here before but Tokyo Dawn Labs have a few quality freeware VST's, I find the Nova dynamic eq and VOS SlickEQ extremely useful, I've just downloaded the two compressor, one is meant to be very transparent the other add harmonics, no sign-up needed it's a direct download.

Scroll to the bottom for the free stuff.

PROJECT SAM now has two free Orchestral libraries. The second library is updated each month with one new instrument.

If you use KONTAKT free, these two libraries will run in that because you are issued with serial numbers to use in Native Access.

There are some very usable sounds in both libs:

I just picked up the Softubes Essentials Collection for about £43 or so ($49).It includes their British Class A (Neve) channel strip, and the Softube 1176 compressor and tape emulation. The deal is running on the Softube website until 16 May or so

Given that I have a Universal Audio Interface with a couple of Neve Preamps (not full channel strips) and about 3-4 UAD 1176 compressor plug-ins, I thought initially that the Softube offering was superfluous. However after trialling them I frankly prefer the Softube plugins to the Unison Neve 1073 plugin and 1176 plugins on my UAD Apollo. I have not explored however the cumulative effect on my laptop’s CPU of running about 10-12 tracks of the same channel strip when tracking drums.

Half price amp plugins at  Neural's Birthday Sale

I bought the Soldano SLO X, to go with the Cory Young (not upgraded to "X" standard yet, but it will be a free upgrade when they do) I already have.

Both sound excellent

Great sounding plugins, but it's so annoying that they're all completely separate. No way to mix & match drives, amps, delays, etc from different Neural plugins without setting up an increasingly complex chain of instances. I wish they had a universal loader pluging, where you could choose parts from all the Neural plugins you owned; I'm sure this would increase their sales and appeal drastically.

I've got a couple of Neural plugins, but I inevitably fall back to Helix Native for all my DAW guitar modelling needs, because it has everything in one package.
