Possibly distrust of the 'I'll pay and my mate will collect' scam potential? Not suggesting that you are pulling such a thing, but could be that.

Only way for it to work is for the mate to turn up with cash.

I've never had good experiences with peeps on gumtree.

Go for the 424x  Andy. I have. The 1024x and 734A. I always end up picking up the 424x for rehersals or gigs.

Right. I’ve pulled out on the 424, I know I’d sell it. I want a 414 wine red...and although a few are on offer, nobody is replying...and the one which isn’t on offer but is near by is seemingly not for sale.
