chris_b Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 My neck dive tip. . . . sell any basses that have neck dive and buy ones that don't. 2 1 Quote
DoubleOhStephan Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 There is another, albeit restrictive option if back/shoulder pain is the issue... https://www.dv247.com/en_GB/GBP/Koenig-Meyer-Guitar-Stand-for-E-Guitar-High-grade-chromium-plated/art-GIT0007352-000?campaign=GShopping/UK&ProgramUUID=HADAqJarPzAAAAFlea9yjI.G&campaign=GShopping/UK&programuuid=HADAqJarPzAAAAFlea9yjI.G&gclid=CjwKCAjw-4_mBRBuEiwA5xnFICZmoqqFlWo2FvJnNCtRSkT5knuuLmyaUnX3tVh6amXD9Opndg0MCxoCWYwQAvD_BwE 1 Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 This is the cure - just mod your bass like this gem off eBay... 1 Quote

It requires a lot of concentration to keep the tummy in and pretend my stomach is flatter than it is... It does not work for me, unfortunately. 1 Quote
stewblack Posted April 27, 2019 Author Posted April 27, 2019 I'm talking about a light travel bass so adding a little weight to the back end really isn't a problem. I have serious problems with a shoulder and neck injury also I'm taking about cycling to rehearsals with this bass. Apologies for not making this clearer. Quote
stewblack Posted April 27, 2019 Author Posted April 27, 2019 As to the Fearless Flyers I do have this option as a last resort. 1 Quote
josie Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 All acoustic basses neck-dive - attach strap to headstock, probably with a bootlace threaded under the strings above the nut. That works fine with an acoustic "look", but might look a bit silly on an electric. With my (semi) hollow-body EB2 and Jack Casady I find a wide grippy strap and very high neck angle (which is how I play anyway) are enough. My back/shoulder problems are nowhere near as bad as some above, but all my favourite basses are super-light and there's no way I'd add any weight to them. Or buy one that needed it. Quote
stewblack Posted April 28, 2019 Author Posted April 28, 2019 The reason for the travel bass is so I can cycle to rehearsal. Quote
