Windmill Jazz Bass - Jay Tee Model. Light ash body with Flamed maple top finished in a very nice Matt (satin) Tobacco-Burst.
Upgraded to Lindy Fralin split jazz pickups plus Sadowsky preamp/with VTC (vol, pan, passive Tone with push/pull switch, which is also active with 2EQ - stacked Bass and treble). Maple neck and separate board - very light/pale, with a tastefully finished headstock front. Schaller 3 + 1 tuners with D-Tuner (E-string). Overall, this is a reasonable weight (9&1/4lbs) and comfortable modern Jazz with great build quality and sound, with the added benefits of the upgrade pickups, pre and EQ. On a par with the likes of Sadowsky, Overwater, GB, Sei Jazz's.
A few spec's: 34" scale, 1.5"-Nut, String spacing is 10mm(nut)-17mm(f22)-20mm(bridge), Schaller tuners (with drop-D/E).
Check www.Windmill-guitars.com and for the Jay Tee model and other basses, with soundclips. This bass does appear (photo & proposed specs. - which were originally passive) on the 'StockList' page: pickups & electronics were not then fitted. Base price was €2290. The bass currently lists @ €2800 with std. Windmill pickups and passive VVT setup. The upgrades to Lindy Fralins and Sadowsky Active/Passve with 2EQ and VTC would take it closer to €3k (rrp, of course). Windmill basses are now stocked at Bass Direct (UK)

from £1200+ (Basic J4) to £2000+ for the Signature models. The JT bass appears to be no longer available and the 'Windmill' signature headstock logo to have been replaced with a simple 'W'. This 3+1 headstock also appears to be unique.
Beautifully simple looking jazz..this must have been a recent purchase from BD, whats the tone like Eubassix??
Thanks /agree re. the aestheics of the bass. Not from BD (.. only just discovered that they're stocking them!!... and, as usual, they're at the wrong end of the country!). Tone is good: very clear, modern J sounding. Not as much fundamental bottom-end as an older Fender-J, but possibly best slap/J I've tried: the passive tone is OK but have tended to use with the active (stacked) B&T all the time - tone boost is huge in both parameters. The passive tone also operates in the active mode, so you can further tweak the sound. Plays really easy - nice action, quick neck.

Update: here's another Windmill 4-sale, which also makes the Sadowsky 'link':-

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=015

.. if your Deutsch is up-to-scratch, I'm sure this is also very informative (!)

... and another link here to Jay Tee Teterissa (Holland's answer to Marcus Miller)and a J-T Windmill:-
