Sounds almost chorused, with a 5th above added in parts - any idea how he achieved this?
Fame and/or wealth. :)

Thats a really good tone,light flange,compressed a little,a real space filler.

Of course you aint ment to hear it isolated, great Bass often sounds utter sh*t as an isolated track,I think this was a good era in Ged's tone, one that he returned to on Counterparts I believe.

Geddy Lee is God! What a true great bass rock tone. The chickens are responsible for the tone as well as The main input "noisy bastard" aka his forefinger. I am a massive Rush fan if you have not already guessed.

Really good to hear it in isolation, interesting that tonally it doesn't sound the way you would expect when you hear it in the mix. Also a good illustration of how straightforward a lot of his parts actually are - but also how it's all in the detail.

Another enthusiast, in case you hadn't guessed. :)

Great, innit?

the track was isolated from Pop Band, or Rock Star or one of them new-fangled computer games. There's also isolated vocal & drum tracks up there, too.

This, for me, is the pinnacle of Geddy's tone. And he's had a few great ones.

His tone on the new S&A Live DVD is back in this area, after the fizzy messes of the last few DVDs and CDs.

And I was just about to give up. lol. But thats the bassists job laid bare and as for the dug in tone, I must admit I love it, thanks for that, any entwhistle with band removed out there ?

How dare you say that about Gary Lees tone. :)

Geddy's tone on that track is awesome! I like it a lot .
There's some similar tracks on Youtube with Chris Wolsentholme's bass lines isolated.
Maybe a good Idea for a new thread?
