Whats going on with Bruces' P Bass jack socket?

Looks like a stock late 70's Precision with the jack socket moved underneath a la Stingray.

Did they do them like that or has Foxy modified it??

He modified it - dunno why - but later pix show the jack plug going into the usual socket on the scratchplate.

A modification I saw a few times on basses of the 80s was a balanced XLR fitted in addition to the jack - like the one my original Hohner B2A has as stock. Maybe its an XLR on the side of Bruce's bass?

Good call. An XLR, before the locking Neutrik jack-socket came out. I had a 1/4" on a bass collapse on me during a gig when I was a brat. Wasn't funny with no back-up.....😟

It is - someone posted the link to the auction in here at the time and I downloaded the pics. I'd love to know how much it sold for.
