Hobbayne
Whats going on with Bruces' P Bass jack socket? Looks like a stock late 70's Precision with the jack socket moved underneath a la Stingray. Did they do them like that or has Foxy modified it?? Best seen at 2:52 in this video.
NikNik
He modified it - dunno why - but later pix show the jack plug going into the usual socket on the scratchplate.

Jean-Luc Pickguard
A modification I saw a few times on basses of the 80s was a balanced XLR fitted in addition to the jack - like the one my original Hohner B2A has as stock. Maybe its an XLR on the side of Bruce's bass?

Maybe its an XLR on the side of Bruce's bass? Good call. An XLR, before the locking Neutrik jack-socket came out. I had a 1/4" on a bass collapse on me during a gig when I was a brat. Wasn't funny with no back-up.....😟
Green Alsatian
Aye, it's an XLR output - someone posted a link to an auction for Bruce's P-Bass in here some time ago. Here are some of the pics: Edited April 27, 2019 by Green Alsatian

NikNik
Was this the one sold at auction a few years back?
Green Alsatian
It is - someone posted the link to the auction in here at the time and I downloaded the pics. I'd love to know how much it sold for.
