TheGreek
Suggests it was originally one of Bernie Goodfellow's creations but completely worthless now as a result of the glue/hack job. Check the photos of the glued on nut and neck. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NIGHTINGALE-BASS-GUITAR/153458127982?hash=item23bad1346e:g:B4EAAOSwqpJcuwVx They should re-introduce public floggings to deal with people who do this. fleabag
Back in the victorian era, i was in a 3 piece ( i was drumming then ) and our bassister used an unlined fretless Nightingale bass. It was utterly superb, and looked a million dollars. They're quite rare, so what happened to that monstrosity and how that neck ended up where it has is shameful
donfuego
I actually bought that bass! Went and picked it up from the seller myself - he was a nice guy, no idea what the story behind it is. I didn't want to ask, I assume there was some tragic smashing or act of god that reduced it to just a neck. It's a real nightingstein, but it plays ok and sounds good to me. Great EQ. Bizarre stick-on fret inlays on the neck, so I took them off and gave the fingerboard a polish. The level of the E string in the nut was raised by a tactical lump of solder, which produces extra tone. I'll try to look after the poor mutant thing.
