KevB
Sting & Copeland complemented each other very well musically if not off stage...
Soledad
Miami Sound Machine, with or without Gloria. Somewher between hot and smokin'. Just discovered the really excellent George Casas (bass) died this past February. I think he was the first player I noticed using a Warwick - mid/late 80s maybe?
peteb
The original Living Colour rhythm section of Muzz Skillings and Will Calhoun come to.mind as one of the best I've seen live. Mars Cowling and Tommy Aldridge were pretty amazing as well... Edited April 26, 2019 by peteb

I'll nominate Steve Gadd and Jimmy Johnson in James Taylor's all star band. plus Paul Chambers and Philly Joe Jones in my favourite Miles Davis era.

mybass
Roscoe Beck with drummer Tom Brechtline In Robbin Ford’s Blue Line, they always seem to be able to find a different groove and riff for any song Ford wrote.
stewblack
Pete and Bruce Thomas of Attractions fame. Not easy to drum with such a restless, melodic bass player and still stand out as a great drummer. In their heyday they made a wonderful team. Coilte
I never tire of hearing the "hand in a glove" rhythm section of Jon Hiseman and a favourite bassist of mine...Tony Reeves. I love their work with "Collosseum" but for me, they really show their mettle (especially during the sax solo) in John Mayall's short lived Bluesbreakers line up on his "Bare Wires" album. Here they are in full flight on a track from the album.
bassace
Haven’t a clue who most of the guys are. Are they all great? I’ll throw these in from my side of the fence:- Sam Jones, Louis Hayes Ray Brown, Ed Thigpen Anyone who ever powered the Basie band.
Stub Mandrel
Do not underestimate Dave Pegg and Gerry Conway. Currently both in Fairport Convention, listen to Jethro Tull's Broadsword and the Beast for a tour-de-force that proves less can be more in the rhythm section. Peggy has done some pretty amazing stuff with Dave Mattacks as well. Edited April 26, 2019 by Stub Mandrel

Forget the cheesy poppy MSM stuff though and check out Gloria’s album from whence this particular tune came - Mi Tierra. Just wonderful stuff if you like more authentic Latin American vibes. Changing tack slightly, Richard Nolan and Bob Dalton from the classic It Bites lineup always floats my boat.
