vinorange
Can anyone help out there? I can’t find the thread size for the height adjustment screws for the vintage style threaded saddles found on vintage USA and on Japanese Jaguar basses. Alternatively if anyone knows where to get them then that would be even better..... That means that this is a thread about the thread on threaded saddles. Thanks Edited April 27, 2019 by vinorange
ikay
Thread size is UNC 6-32 - https://www.allparts.uk.com/products/bridge-saddle-height-screws-for-bass-or-t-guitar-slot-head-6-32-x-1-2-inch

I just bought some 6-32 x 1/2” grub screws and they didn’t fit but I’m guessing it’s the pitch that’s wrong? Hence UNC thread?
ikay
Hmm, that's a bit odd. Guitar parts with 6-32 thread are usually UNC to fit vintage Fender. Edited April 27, 2019 by ikay

Thanks Wouldn't the Japanese ones be metric thread? Which model have you got - is it USA or Japanese and do you know what year? Also, do you know for sure it's the original bridge. Andyjr1515
I agree that USA would normally be #6-32 x 7/16" I'm pretty sure a Japanese Fender would have M3 x 10mm

I’ve ordered the all parts ones now as I figured it may be the pitch. If not, then that’s 2 lots of incorrect saddle screws. If I buy any more, I may as well have upgraded it coz it’s rubbish anyway!!

Andyjr1515
Chrome or black? I've got some I can pop in the post to you (they are closer to 12mm long but out of a Squier bridge) FOC They are allen-key rather than slotted heads but will do the job.... Drop me a PM and I can get them into the morning's post
MoonBassAlpha
I've got some metric ones in stainless, if that's any help. Means they won't get rusted in place!

bumnote
So I have a CIJ 60s reissue precision. It has threaded saddles as per the US ones, not the plain ones with a groove. I cant remember if the bridge is original or if I changed it. I bought some 6-32 unc which go in about a thread before they seize and when I bought some m3 they are too small. Any ideas?
