Hi all,

Up for sale here is this rather lovely Warwick Streamer Stage II 5 string, it has an Afzalia body with Ovangkol 7 laminate neck and a wenge fretboard.

The bass has the Warwick Yin Yang inlays which is almost the only reason I actually bought this bass! They're not overly common these days and are a £500 option, however I believe we're standard against SSII basses of this era! Looking at the Warwick price list, this bass currently retails at £5300. Not an unsubstantial sum...

Condition wise it has one or two minor dings, really the only thing worth noting is a little dent on the fret board directly under the 5th fret on the G side. It doesn't affect playability at all but I wanted to make sure it's mentioned.

I've had a discussion with one of the previous owners of this bass (a member of our very parish) and have been informed that the truss rod was replaced some years ago with a cross key truss as opposed to a hex key truss, so it turns with the use of a thick flat screwdriver or similar device. Worth noting.

The bass comes with a custom fitted Warwick flight case and comes with a brand new truss rod tool, a set of Warwick strap lock, a half used tub of Warwick wax and a Warwick cloth.

The bass plays superbly, the attack and growl and fantastic for tap and slap. The serial number dates the bass to March 2004.

The pick ups are MEC as is the pre-amp. I'm based in Basildon, Essex and you're welcome to come view the bass. I can post it anywhere in Europe for around £50, and in the UK for around £30. Collection is also very welcome.

If you have any questions, please let me know!

Thanks, Russ.

Did you literally buy this bass a few days ago on Gumtree from an address in Chafford Hundred? I viewed an indentical 2004 bass there on Thursday with the exact same markings and ding by the 5th fret.

I too saw the Gumtree ad - it looked very mucky in the original images - looking cleaner now (but the funk is still in the frets)!  I used to have one of the these - fabulous growl and great playability

It is an excellent bass, and I have no trouble at all in keeping it for myself! However a 6 string bass has shown its face that I'd like to try and acquire hence putting it up for sale.

Still here, just been giving it a good set up, wax and polish. Just put some fresh strings on it so it's good to go to a new home.

binky_bass how do you find the action after about the 8th fret or so? When I tried it just last Thursday there was fret buzz down at the dusty end. Have you made any adjustments to the bridge saddles or truss rod? Is the neck looking straight to you?

No fret buzz, the saddles have been adjusted slightly since re-stringing and the truss rod hasn't been touched as yet. It's hard to capture in a photo the 'straightness' of the neck, the angle makes focusing very difficult, below is my best attempt at that.

Just to add, any interested parties are of course more than welcome to come take a look and give it a try before making any decisions.
