Cuzzie
Oops! ha! Rsputin was a bit mischievous, but it’s amazing how it can be changed to be almost unrecognisable. Maybe that could be her challenge - make a popular song unrecognisable to most
Cuzzie
Oh - I don’t really do Facebook - maybe I am more punk!

You want punky + funky? How about Warhead by the UK Subs - two verses then push up the tempo 🙂
operative451
Where is your band playing? This sounds right up my alley... or have you anything on YouTube? Also: personally I like a wildly inappropriate cover version, so anything girls aloud or kylie stuck through a p-funk metal blender would be my suggestion... probably not helpful if your singer is all 'popular = crap'.. arthurhenry
How about something from Band of Gypsys? It covers the rock, funk and (of course) Hendrix. Plenty of scope to play around with it to please the hardcore element.
el borracho
Hendrix, Funk, Psychedelia, Rock?? Dr Phibes & the House of Wax Equations??
Maude
Maybe speed this up a bit to make more punk?
ezbass
Just heard Five Finger Death Punch doing Kenny Wayne Shepherd’s, Blue on Black. This could be a candidate for a different arrangement.
bearhart74
The Pixies have a great catalog to mine for covers..
tauzero
Gimme Gimme Gimme by ABBA, approximately as reworked by Yngyngwyngy Malmsteen - I can't remember the name of the band that we nicked the version from but it was similar to that one. Sammers
These both are quite funky & punky I think, killer chorus on Knifeman!
