Golchen
Hmmmn, looks a bit unnatural to me. I'd want to see it in the flesh. I love the relic look but I HATE crappy DIY relics (I'm not saying that this IS one necessarily!)

Happy Jack
I'm loving those cigarette burns on the headstock.
tauzero
To me it seems odd that some tatty old piece of crap with an obviously poor quality finish has "mojo" just because if has Fender on the headstock. Would the same word be used to describe a similarly wrecked Yamaha or Ibanez or Warwick? And do Fender deliberately use sh*t paint (see Rory Gallagher's Strat for another example)? Mr. Foxen
And do Fender deliberately use sh*t paint (see Rory Gallagher's Strat for another example)?
Yes, see Highway 1 series:
The Solid Alder body has a very thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish which lets the body grain and natural tone appear through the finish. This also gives the guitar a vintage look straight out the box and it will age and wear-in over time.
