Do members have to be alive still?

there are no rules specified - be nice to see some beethoven or sibelius in there maybe :D

I tried, but kept changing my mind so gave up. Probably overanalysing.

But did make me think, all my favourite musicians aren’t renowned for being virtuosos. So it wouldn’t be much of a supergroup. 😂

Reminds me of the yearly polls held in Holland when I was even younger. One year, the supergroup consisting of the "best" ones for each position was:

Best singer: Jon Anderson
Best guitar player: Steve Howe
Best keyboard player: Rick Wakeman
Best drummer: Bill Bruford

I just wish I could remember who the best bass player was that year!

😂

Elvis Costello would write the songs, Stewart Copeland on drums, Norman Watt-Roy on bass, Jules Holland piano, Smokey Robinson and Carla Thomas on vocals, Tommy Tedesco on guitar.

My rock band would be anchored by Brian Downey and John Entwistle, Malcolm Young and Rick Parffit chugging away on the six strings with Brian May taking care of solos George Michael singing.

Dave Pegg or Jack Bruce

Think I’d go for:

Joacim Cans - vocals

Howie Simon and Doug Aldrich - guitars

Erna Siikavirta - keyboards

Marcel Jacob - bass

Jimmy DeGrasso - drums

Sadly Marcel’s no longer with us, so Billy Sheehan would need to dep if the rules change to say anything about actually being alive!

Alain Caron - electric bass

Christian McBride - acoustic bass

Herbie Hancock - keys

Brecker bros - horns

Taking death metal and jazz fusion to places neither of them ever wanted to go, I’d like to hear

Sean Reinert - Drums

Tony Choy -Bass

Chris Poland - Guitar

James Murphy - Guitar

John Tardy - Vocals

in their 1991 guises.
