markdavid Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Hi, I have seen a Boss OD3 overdrive pedal going for a good price. I was looking at maybe buying the pedal I am after a very subtle overdrive effect, no blazing distortion , no over the top fuzz , I am just after something that can produce a subtle overdrive to add a bit of warmth to my tone and bring out the growl of my J pick up a bit, Will this pedal do this? I have tried the Boss Bass Overdrive before but it was too over the top and too distorted Quote
markdavid Posted July 25, 2007 Author Posted July 25, 2007 sorry I meant to include a picture of the pedal Quote
Old Horse Murphy Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 It's a pretty good pedal and goes from a nice fuzz thru to completely OTT Distortion. I have one (2 months old) for sale. Immaculate condition with box, paperwork etc- I just don't use it in my set up. Quote
thumbo Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 (edited) Have you checked out the Fulltone Bassdrive? They go for about £200, from what you've said I reckon it'll do what you require. Edited July 25, 2007 by thumbo Quote
Dragonlord Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 I think this is for guitar. I used to have the ODB-3, which is designed for bass and it sucked bigtime. I would stay away. +1 on the fulltone bassdrive recommendation. Quote
chardbass Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 I have an ODB-3 and I don't want it. It sucks- literally. As in sucks all tone out of your bass. Also be aware that a lot of the great overdriven sounds you hear are mixed with a clean signal too. Quote
Dragonlord Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 BTW, if you want search for info on the Tone Factor Cream Pie... I might be selling mine soon, it could also work well for what you want it. Quote
