supabock
Hi Gentlemen, Have any of you got any information on this beautiful 5 string Sei jazz bass currently on E-Bay looks absolutely gorgeous. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT
Well there is no doubt as to the quality of these basses. I have two so could be a little biased. The seller refers to it as being ultra rare, but i think its only ultra rare as it would take Martin some months, more like a year to produce one to your spec, if thats what you want. I think they are worth every penny, but do feel this seller is asking for max price on this one. All subjective i know and it depends if someone wants to buy it at that price or wait for a new one at an equivalent price to what he is asking for. bubinga5
Ha ha..Ultra Rare...of course its ultra rare. its a custom...Martin doesnt make the same bass twice... a little misleading me thinks.. You could say all Sei's are rare..but that rubbish of course it is a very high price but if they want to pay it they will be getting a fantastic bass Edited November 29, 2010 by bubinga5

ziggydolphinboy
thanks for youre kind comments, i wasnt sure with the 4 but the bass is beutiful to play and its the closest ive ever had to a new bass , there isnt a mark on it, yeah all the six is beutiful, im after a nice sei 5 now, and there are 5 in the gallery at the moment!!! I was gonna trade something with cash for one but now trading that bass with cash for a different 5, but im really tempted to sell/ trade my spector usa5 to get a sei 5. seis ......... are just beutiful. heres a odd thing i wonder why second hand seis arent as dear as other second hand basses , ? ie gallery = 2nd hand erou lx 5£ 149, warwicks £1800.00to 3000.00, f basss etc ... then you look how beutiful the seis are and they are all under £2000.00... odd! anyway im happpy with my two and am looking forward to getting a sei 5 at some point to complimemnt the two!! JTUK
Might not be the right time to put my Flam5 up in the Gallery then..? Edited April 7, 2011 by JTUK
purpleblob
There do seem to be a few 2nd hand Sei's at the bass gallery at the moment. If the singlecut series I was only 5 strings I'd be damned tempted by that. The fretless flamboyant 5 string is lovely, I haven't tried it but did get a good look at it last time I was there - the body is smaller than I imagined, really nice as well. Note to self - stop looking now or the credit card will take another hit

kevin_lindsay
Martin's made me 8 Sei basses over the years, I think I should think about the next one to order? The basses shown on here are gorgeous. For those who have been fortunate enough to order a Sei Bass, the process of material selection is addictive, huh? I had decided what I needed before I went in, and then splurged and took it all. It was lush though.

Chris2112
There is nothing like a Sei bass to add a touch of class to a collection, there are some lovely basses on show in this thread!

Russ
Behold... It's not quite ready for me yet - that's not the final neck (the final neck will have an unlined fingerboard) but hopefully this provides suitable Sei pr0n for the time being - it certainly has for me.
