Brian Bass Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 Although I’ve been playing for many years, I’ve never really dabbled in effects pedals. Could anyone help with what the type of pedal needed for the George Ezra ‘Shotgun’ bass sound please ? Quote
NJE Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 I could be wrong but I thought a lot of the sound was down to it being on fretless. 1 Quote
Cato Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 (edited) I thought it was either a fretless with a touch of chorus or some sort of synth/sequencer thingie. You can get some of the way towards that sound with a chorus pedal and maybe some reverb but a fretted bass will never be able to produce the slides and vibrato that can be got from a fretless. Beedster Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 I get what to my ear is the tone on the track with a fretless with no FX. I'm not suggesting that others would necessarily agree Quote
scalpy Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 There’s some room ambience on it a la Graceland. Quote
Johnzo Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 I hAve tried it with flange and a wee bit of chorus and people have told me its close. Quote
