This will probably not come as too much of a surprise to people who have seen my builds before but there might be a change to this build...........

I keep on looking at the HB PB-50 SB and I’m gonna purchase one next month so here’s my dilemma...........

Do I carry on with this build or do I change the body shape to a telecaster shape and change the shape of the pickguard to suit the body opinions please

I’ve tried marking out the body to reshape it but it doesn’t look right so if your interested in taking it off my hands let me know............👍

Managed to get time to do a bit on this build cavities are all routed out

Just need to re-shape the head stock then give the body a bit of a sand over then a few coats of danish oil

Here’s a mock up so far...........

I'm hoping that when I danish oil the body it will go almost the same colour as the neck............😀

The body has been sanded and Danish oiled, I’ve reshaped the headstock to a more traditional shape

Now I’ve just got to source and fit the electrics

I’m going to string it with some black tapewounds

I'm really happy with the way it looks.............😀

A small detail, but maybe the pickguard screws should be black, the chrome ones seem to stand out too much for me. 😁

I did think the same but the control plate is  Chrome so I thought Chrome screws would look ok but I might change them both to black I haven’t quite decided yet............😀

Your bridge is black with black screws.

Your control plate is chrome with chrome screws.

Your pickguard is black with chrome screws.

If it was my bass I would have black pickguard with black screws. 😁

In my usual style I decided to refinish the bass as there was something I didn't like about it so I decided to fill in the MM pickup and spray it Matt Black with matching hardware
