stewblack
A friend took up the bass and now wants to move on. Asked me how much she might get for her gear. I don't even know what the bass is! If you know what it is could you let me know. Is the amp worth anything? £50? less? Don't know what to tell her really. Thank you bottom end hive mind
NJE
Looks like an old Yamaha RBX170. My first bass was a Yamaha RBX260 very similar but with just a P pickup. Superb bass for the money but was only a budget instrument and not worth big money secondhand. If it plays well and sounds good I would suggest she doesn’t sell the bass and just saves a bit longer for the new one, as I doubt she would get £100 for the bass. Rough guess £120 for the bass and amp if she cleaned the bass and took the stickers off.
Mykesbass
Yes, RBX 170. Great starter bass, but looks quite an old model. As @NJE says, not worth a great deal - £75 - £90. £100 - £120 with the amp.

missis sumner
Yep, RBX 170, about 5 years old (mine's red). Great sounding bass for the money.
TheGreek
A friend of mine picked one up from a local charity shop for £75 - played nice - better bass than the price/value suggests.
