ARGH Posted December 15, 2008 Author Posted December 15, 2008 BBC4,early on,just surfing channels, and a pleasant shock..Maple Necks,Rosewood necks,a few freaky whacked out paint jobs...Jimmy Saville in an Arran Sweater with a major league Turtle neck... They must have had cash in those days, was the Fender P around £100 due to import duty in the 60s? Noticed a lot of flatwounds being mimed with as well on the footage. Quote

GreeneKing Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 I was 14. Falling in love with 'Relics', Yes, Wishbone Ash and Afghan coats if I can remember correctly. Oh as well as the girl next door Quote
wateroftyne Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 It's a 1966 slab-bodied Precision, of which very few were made and almost all were distributed in the UK. Famously played by Ace, Entwistle and your man out of T-Rex. Very mysterious basses - find one, and you'll be a rich man (or woman). Quote

Paul Cooke Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 ah... TOTP, late 60's early 70's... we used to have it on every week in the common room... total silence as we'd have a reel to reel tape recorder set up with the microphone up to the speaker to record it... Quote
casapete Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Great air drumming on the T.Rex clip! Quote
squire5 Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Did anyone notice the Fender 5 string being played by Alan Price's bassist. Not many of them about.Ace Kefford's bass seemed to have a slight mod around the top bout. Quote
