PauBass
I'm thinking on selling my Musicman Stingray HS and I'm just testing the waters to see if anyone is interested. The Serial Number is E57180, I checked with Musicman Customer Service and it means that it was made on 16-10-06 and I bought it new on January 2007 so that's 7 months ago. The bass is in mint condition as it hasn't been played much since I'm mainly using my '77 Jazz Bass. The bass comes with all the original acessories and paperwork: Musicman case, keys, instructions, polish cloth, labels.... I will also include a set of cleaning products that Musicman recommend to take care of the fretboard: Birchwood Oil and Birchwood Wax... Have a look at the pictures! What do you guys consider to be a fair price? Keep in mind that I bought it new 7 months ago and that it comes with all the original candy + cleaning products... What do you think?
A fair price would be based on what you paid for it - not the full retail price, unless of course that's what you paid? You can pick these up new with a case for around £1100 - £1150 so I'm guessing a ballpark figure for a private sale is £900 - £975? Like Hamster says, you can get one new for £1100 so no-one will pay more than that for it used and will most likely expect to pay less. Fingerprints, even cleaned off ones have that effect on value

I'm just asking you guys for advice on what you think is a fair price. I cannot find them for £1100, can you tell me where, please? Anyway, I agree with you two and I also had in mind the £900ish. Thanks for your advice guys!
niceguyhomer
I'm absolutely sure the market will dictate what you get for it Paubass but at the moment it's not easy to sell anything. Beautiful bass but a bit too much for me 4 weeks away from my holiday! Good luck fella.

paul, the
You're not selling this on Gumtree?: Musicman Stingray Hs (Double Pickup) (£950) Reply to: Click here to email the poster Date: Friday 13th July http://brighton.gumtree.com/brighton/51/11405051.html

As you'll see I posted the Ad on Gumtree only once and never reposted it since I wasn't selling it anymore. The only reason I'm asking for advice on the price and thinking of selling this bass is because I'm GASSING for a '70's Fender P Bass but, I have to say, that I'm not completly sure abut letting this one go as is such a great instrument with such a wide range of good tones... The only reason GAS, GAS & GAS!
