Neil H
I am currently considering getting a late 70's Stingray and from the info I have gleaned from the internet it looks like nut width is 1.11/16in can anyone who has one confirm this please? Also how does the neck compare to a Fender C type with 1.3/4in neck width as I prefer this type of neck. Cheers Neil
RaNoFuNkY
Would love to help mate, but I know nothing about Stingrays. Have a bump on me and lets see if someone can help!
Delberthot
Wasn't it around this time that the thin neck versions were available? I'm sure they did the standard and jazz width necks Its been a while since I've been through the EBMM forum so I'm a bit rusty with dates
KevB
I have a 79 Ray. The width at the nut is 43mm, so slightly wider than 1 1/16th inches. For comparison my 04 USA Jazz is 40mm at the same point. The Ray neck feels slightly deeper than the jazz but not dramatically different. Hope this helps. Beedster
Every Pre EB 'ray I've played has felt more like a 60's Precision width than anything else, that is, slightly wider than the B-width 70's Fenders. The string spacing always felt just a little too wide for my tastes also. If I remember correctly the width at the nut on mine was between 1.65 and 1.70" C
