Guest subaudio
Hi, my bass is very heavy, I don't have shoulder issues but it does hurt my lower back. Anyone tried the duo double straps? Any thoughts? Neoprene or leather? Many thanks.
fretmeister
I've got one that I don't use. It's pretty good but getting a lighter bass was a far better option.
Guest subaudio
Thanks Fretmiester, although heavy I love the sound and playability so I'm keeping it as a studio bass.
fretmeister
I might sell my strap. They are not cheap and I don't use it now as I sold the bass I had bought it for. No point in having it sit in a drawer doing nothing.
Guest subaudio
What length is it please? You could pm me the details and a price if you like, I'm broke this month but will have some disposable next month.
Guest ixlramp
Don't you mean Gruvgear? If lower back pain is the problem, spreading the bass weight across both shoulders won't reduce the load on your lower back, although it will still be healthier for you to halve the stress on one sholder and balance the weight on your spine. A lighter bass is a better idea, or use a stand, or sit, or use a hip-strap to put the weight on your hips. Back pain means you have to make a change, it's not worth risking back injury. Standard bass straps putting all that weight on one shoulder are clearly ridiculous if you think about it, we only accept it because we're used to it. chris_b
All good advice. Sell the bass and get something you can stand up and play for at least 2 hours in comfort.
