FENDER MARCUS MILLER BASS

I have a Marcus Miller Bass.I have noise issues with the Bass.I think it's either the Pick-ups or the Pre-amp.The noise goes when I put my hand on the neck.I think it is 60 cycle hum,I could be wrong.Would changing the Pre-amp get rid of the noise or should I change the Pick-ups?.

Hi, It could be either the pre amp or the pick ups as they are single coils (which are notorious for hiss etc) , However it may (or may not) be worth noting that Marcus Miller actually uses a Sadowsky pre amp on his bass

It is normal for Jazz Bass especialy Marcus!It is 60 cycle hum,and when you turn both volume to max hum disapeared!

I had a similar problem with my MM Jazz. I took it to a local repairer and he managed to sort it. It was an issue with the screening and the electrics werent grounded properly. Needless to say it is now solved.
