thewalruswaspaul
Hi All , Ive just seen in a shop near me a Cort GB54 going for £195 (is black and has a jazz pickup in the neck position and a musicman humbucker at the bridge ) , looking at the bass (have not played it yet) it looks very nicely made and has active 2 band eq. Has anybody played these and are they any good? bassfunk
I don't know about this specific model but I have played a few Corts. They were all of a fairly decent standard. I used to have a bass teacher who used one as a back up bass and occasionally gigged it. He really liked it and I ended up nearly buying one. I know this doesn't help in reference to the particular model you're looking at but as I said decent standard for the price.
Starvolt
I think I've played that one. There's a music shop near me which specialises in Corts (i.e Practically only sells Corts, I think the bloke is obsessed...) , and I went in with me guitarist to have a browse around. I went for all the Jazz shaped ones, this being one. It was pretty good, and it was all well built and stuff. It was a while ago, so I can't quite remember the sound, but if you want, I can go in tomorrow, see if they've still got it, and see how it sounds/is. markytbass
Thats a 34a on the website you've linked to. I had one about a year ago but it was the older model with a full pick guard and block inlays (see my avitar). They seem to have improved the bridge as well. In my opinion the sound was very close to a Stingray.
