op76 Posted December 17, 2008 Share Posted December 17, 2008 I have a very used Ampeg BR2 solid state amp head. It is silent when turned on until you plug in the lead (either when it's attached at the other end or not to the bass). It then makes a quietish ringing sort of noise which increases when you touch the lead plug surround at the amp end. Tried different speakers and it's not them. Does not affect the sound when played but would be nice to rid of this noise. At first I thought it might be interference from light dimmer switches in the room or the wireless broadband from the computer. Maybe it's an earthing issue - the head is in a 2U rack case.
