hooky_lowdown
Does anyone know if this pup on fleabay is genuine. A low impedance EB pup seems odd to me. I thought the Gibson's were 30k and Epiphone's have 1k outputs? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Vintage-Gibson-EB-Bass-Pickup-Early-70s-EB0-EB3/163661974216?hash=item261b038ac8%3Ag%3AMiIAAOSwc0lcaqOn&LH_ItemCondition=3000
2x18
I have an early 60's Genuine Gibson Mudbucker ( Nickel plate not Chrome ) that I removed from my EB2 in the Eighties ( Replaced with a DiMarzio ) Still in my bits box and measures nearly 30k as a Genuine Gibson should! Will.
goingdownslow
In the mid '70s I bought a replacement 'Gibson' mudbucker from Top Gear in Denmark Street, it sounded nothing like the original and when I measured its dc resistance it was 1.5kΩ not the 29-31kΩ that it should have done. I doubt if it was a genuine Gibson as I have never had a Gibson bass with one of these pickups that ever measured less than 29kΩ. I have one from a 60's Epi Rivoli that measures 30kΩ.
