Houndogg
Hello , I play Fender Jazz & double bass through my Euphonic combo ( 4 ohm ) And I'm looking at adding a second cab , any thoughts ? Weight not an issue and i stay in Edinburgh Scotland . Thanks
Dan Dare
You'll need to check the minimum impedance external speaker yours can drive (especially if the existing speaker is 4 ohm). I'd suggest trying to match the existing driver as closely as possible for consistency (assuming you like the sound it makes and just want more of it). Would be worth taking it to a decent shop and trying a few with it, rather than buying on spec' or recommendation. Houndogg
Thanks , I checked with Euphonic and they recommend the 4ohm Whizzy M Line. Im chatting to Bass Direct who can import the M-Line , other options they suggest are a Vanderkley or a Eich - any opinions on these three ? Hi - we can order you in a Vanderkley MNT112 in 4Ω - your cost is £675 http://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/MNT112.html We can also order cabinets from Eich in 4Ω like the XS112 - http://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Eich_112XS.html The £699 includes VAT. Clarky
Pretty sure (as I have the iAmp500 head) its fine to go down to 2 ohms which means you can pair with a 4 ohm cab. Why not try and seek out an old style black 4 ohm Wizzy 12 (warning: I tried and couldn't find one but they must be around!) so it looks like a neat stack? See pic in this old ad https://gsfanatic.com/en/hirdetes/453317/-9--ea-usa-iamp-

'Ordering them in' is all fine and dandy, but personally I wouldn't want to get anywhere near pulling a £700 trigger without trying them out first. As Dan said above, it'd be well worth taking your amp to a shop or dealer or something where you can test things without obligation.
