I've just received this picture message from the guitarist in my band of the project he's been working on



I believe it used to be some sort of cheap jazz bass copy - it's certainly got a smaller body than any jazz bass that i'd ever seen. He showed me the body a few weeks ago when it turned up and it was all routed for Jazz pickup and bridge configuration.
What do youse think?

What's your point? looks to me like he's just fixing up a Jaguar. Do you mean that the neck, bridge and pick-guard assembly are from a Jaguar and only the body is from an old bass? Excellent bit of recycling then!

i think it looks quite tidy. I understand John Squire had something very similar which was his inspiration. The body is an old J style bass and it looks like he's done a good job. I thought it was a jaguar, but they don't have the same bottom horn
