Sorry this took a bit. Stuggling with technology....

....sorry also that that the click's still in there. In my rush to get it out (ooh err, vicar!) I oversaw this fact. Hey-ho...

No idea right now, going need a few more listens. Far from killing it, you've kept it rolling. We will be heroes when this thread is 50 years old and still going strong. We few who were here at the beginning. Statues, I should imagine, are not out of the question.

BTW I love the line wherever it's from, well played.

Oh the adulation, I can hardly wait. Thanks for the kind comment.

Especially love that little descending line from about 11 seconds. Something Detroitish about it...

Without giving away too much there's an Anglo-Teutonic-American mix. Also (and here's a big giveaway) a Michael Jackson connection.

I think I know the band but can't trace the tune...

That’s odd if you have the right band because it was one of their biggest hits. #12 in the UK and #7 in the US according to Wikipedia.

Is it "Ready to Go" by Republica?

Frayed knot.

Thanks from reminding me of that song though. Haven’t listened to that in ages and its ace.

I recognise the riff at the 11 second mark. I can hear a horn section playing in unison in my minds eye ear.

No horns at that spot in my recollection, but I’ve been wrong before, so...

OM (actual) G, I never would have got it (and I'm studying DISCO at evening classes at present!).

(very well played though, by the questioner)

Would have got it if you'd done Boogie Nights! 😎

I've made a Soundcloud account, and I'll by trying to do an upload later on - in anticipation of getting a question right! 👍

Please can you keep the  ball rolling for us? We didn't have a winner last time so we need someone to upload one...

I've got one I recorded on my phone... it shouldn't be hard to solve. Happy to upload it if @Ricky 4000 's one is delayed.

Please go ahead matey. 👍 I've not had chance to record anything yet, never mind uploading it.

Sounds good to me. 👍

It's not that easy to guess though, is it... there's a lot of basslines a bit like that... I wanna say Bowie...

Alright, I know Neil's bassline, but I've been up half the night recording, and the other half the night trying to export a bit of a track out of Reaper as an mp3.

So that if I'm right, I can take a turn.

Aaaaaargh!
