dickandjill Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Hi I've just bought a n old bass amp and can't identify it as all its got written on the front is BASS 100 Its made in England. Can anyone tell me what it is from the pics below? Thanks a lot Richard Quote
Alien Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 The font used on the front panel says early '80s Laney to me. Andy Quote
ardi100 Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I was going to suggest that. It looks like the same font as my Linebacker amp from the 80s. Quote
dickandjill Posted December 19, 2008 Author Posted December 19, 2008 Thanks for the replies I may have a look inside. Is there likely to be a nameplate in there? The chap selling reckoned it was a peavey or carlsbro but from what you've both said it appears he's wrong. Cheers Richard Quote
casapete Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Could be a Custom Sound combo - they used speaker grilles like that. Or possibly Elvic, Mckenzie or even an RSC/Linear model. Reckon its probably mid/late 70's.....? Quote
dickandjill Posted January 18, 2009 Author Posted January 18, 2009 I'm still trying to identify my Bass amp. I removed the amp and there is nothing inside to identify it at all and I've removed the speaker and found it to be a Fane. Have searched Google and Ebay for similar looking(incl suggested makes) amps/combos but nothing similar. Quote
ahpook Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 looks like a FAL to me....i had a very similar amp when i started out. made my a company in leeds i think. Quote
