mr4stringz Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 Hey all, Need a shorty back up and can’t find availability of most of my short list just now, so am considering a Gretsch Junior Jet. Does anyone have any opinions on whether there’s much to choose between the old versions and the current ones? I’ve read the pickups in the out of production ones are of a better quality (TV Jones designed I think vs generic mini HBs on the current model?), but interested in any opinions of whether it’s worth the effort of scouring for one of them or taking the easy option and getting a current production model. Any/all opinions appreciated. Cheers Quote
Newfoundfreedom Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 Haven't played the old so I can't compare the two, but I've got the Jet 2 and is superb! Ridiculously good build quality for the money and sounds like thunder. You'd never know it was a short scale just by listening to it. 1 1 Quote
andyjevans Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 I have a G2220 - 2 PU. Love it. But I'm also wondering about getting a second G2002 or 2210 with single PU to experiment with. Anyone playing one, or selling one? Quote
Tim Chapple Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 I had the single pickup model for a while, it misses the extra tonal range. Quote
