Paul S Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Hi All My Fender Jag makes a quiet but noticeable humming noise when I engage the active circuit - this disappears as soon as I touch a metal part of the bass. Is this to be expected or should I be alarmed? Ta. Quote
Dubs Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Sounds like a grounding issue. How old is the bass? Was the active circuit factory fitted (i.e. is it standard)? ...if not, did you fit the active circuit yourself? Quote
Machines Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 I've tried a couple of Jaguar basses in shops and encountered this same issue - I think it's flawed by design. Quote
chris_b Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 It shouldn't be doing this! Take it to a luthier and get the earth checked out. Quote
Paul S Posted December 19, 2008 Author Posted December 19, 2008 Ok, thanks for that. I bought it new and am due a 'set up' as part of the service - they can deal with it. Not dangerous, I imagine? (...hope...) Quote
