nick
Just heard this track on the radio - love the bassline. Was wondering if anybody knows who the bass player was on this(?) Cheers Edited December 19, 2008 by nick
OldGit
Yeah I heard that too .. It's really decorative, a feature of the tune, even for civilians, and well in your face
Josh
I've been trying to figure this one out for the last few weeks, IMO it's like the sister song to Forget Me Nots.
RayFW
Think it was Mark Adams from the band "Slave".
Shockwave
It really sounds like Mark Adams of the band Slave. Its exactly his tone and playing style. This is only a guess based on the tone and playing style of the bass on the track though. As a reference. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=hMfFpmJGCr4&...feature=related Sounds very similar playing styles, lots of slides and chordal popping. Gaucho 5
Yes it was along with Steve Arrington on Drums both members of Slave around this time! Great track, very original and the Bass playing really stood out! Classic IMO
lowdown
Yeah, Mark Adams was a wonderful player, but I'm not sure it was him playing Bass on 'Inside Out'. I do seem to remember someone saying it might be Sandy Anderson on Bass (around the time of the single release). Maybe this 'TalkBass' thread might shed some light and answer the question? https://www.talkbass.com/threads/sandy-anderson.788720/ For those that don't know, Mark Adams had a pretty traumatic life with booze, drugs and depression. And of course his terrible murder in 2011 (three years after this thread was started). A bit of a depressing read, but nonetheless, interesting. https://www.iloveoldschoolmusic.com/sad-see-slave-band-member-died-family-wants-answers/ Edited March 6, 2019 by lowdown
Gaucho 5
There you go…...always good to get the full story! Like others because of the Slave link, the timing and the info banded about I believed it was Mark. Nice to know Lowdown
