depends what you want coating. just about every large town will have someone blasting and coating alloy wheels.

City powder coasters in Birmingham have done alloy wheels and motorbike frames for me, good prices, good turnaround time, reliable. Quality is good but not perhaps the best of the best (price more than reflects this and unless it was for a £how much! Ferrari it would be fine).

I need to get some Stingray parts painted black – or maybe I'll get them chromed – neck plate, knob plate(!), bridge

I just took the bits (effects boxes etc) to a local firm, £5 later I had a really well finished set of boxes.  If you can wait until they run a colour you want it will be cheaper.

Neck plate & control plate should be ok for powdercoating but bridge...i'd get rechromed, powdercoat can part fill any grooves/guides in bridge. For chromers i'd look at those who chrome classic motorcycle parts...

You could get the bridge 'black' chromed   The motorcycle specialists provide a good service.

thanks for all the suggestions – the bridge is a Schaller and not the original MM one, and it's just the base plate part of it that could do with refinishing

You are probably aware of this, Schaller do a black bridge.  Had one on a bass, it looked smart.

thanks @3below, I have the black 2000 bridge but the base plate is a bit tatty – I've located a powder coating company near me so everything looking good – just got to get a SR4 neck plate made and I'll be heading for the final straight
