skankdelvar Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Indeed it does. Shipping not unreasonable either. Bit weird, this being 'positive' thing. Got far too used to threads about faked up POS 'Vintage 1939 Custom RARE Fender Percussion Biss - You try world class, no rip you off, drives superb". Quote
Bassassin Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Apart from the fact I hold a massive personal grudge against the seller (Rikki's "Music Shop", Leith Walk, Edinburgh - never, ever give them a penny of your money - cynical, dishonest, cheating w@nkers ) - it does seem reasonably priced. Jon.
I've recently not bought a mandolin because I don't like the shop it was being sold in. It's second hand/pawn shop. I'd been in there when someone was trying to return something that didn't work, and heard what they were telling the guy. Fundamentally, the conversation can be summed up as "our engineers have checked it and it's working properly" "but I can show you that it's not working" "(aggressive disinterest) our engineers have checked it and it's working properly". Buying something for the lowest price when the backup service is poor and there are problems with the product is a problem I've experienced in the past. lemmywinks Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Here's a corker of a deal if you're local to Bridgend: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Starfire-4-string-ba...%3A1|240%3A1318 Quote
Happy Jack Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Back to the OP for a minute. As cheap copies go, I have to say the Westfield is pretty good. The pickups are more-or-less crap and you'd probably want to drop some after-market stuff in, but that's a lot of bass for the money. Quote
Bassassin Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Fair point Luke, our guitarist lives in Leith - 'nuff said! J. Quote
skankdelvar Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Ah well...if they're a pack of bastids, then perhaps not so reasonable a deal... Quote

TheButler Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Aye i'm not a fan of Rikki's, i practice just round the corner and in the years i've done that i've never taken a notion to go in, after the first time. Quote
