This guitar is a bit unusual in having a longer fretboard that extends over the body so you get higher notes if you like.

To be fair, I thought his attempt at shielding was a good one, prima facie.  I appreciate that he likes to tinker but those 'big hands' bridges and  egg-slicer nuts that he hacks are beyond belief.

His chosen method for lowering action on both basses and guitars is to file down the nut grooves which is just plain daft.
The whole thing about taking seven string guitars and five-string basses and converting them to be minus one string for players with "big hands" is to my mind just plain crazy. How people buy this garbage is beyond me.
