Another string question

On behalf of a friend of mine...

He is looking to replace strings on a bass.

They play 90s style heavy metal d tuning so the singer can keep up etc.

He's looking for strings that cut through the mix, two guitars and drum.

They rehearse 3 times a week and only play for internet audience.

He says his hands sweat a lot when he plays bass, so wants suitable strings. I suggested Elixir?

Any other suggestions?

Stainless Steels.

Like Dunlop's or something. A lot of people recommend Warwick Red Stainless, because at around £9.00 per set, they're not only great value for money, but they last a while, and you can buy a load of them and change as needed without breaking the bank.

Agree, they do sound very similar to Rotosound steels but I’ve found them to last at least twice as long.

The cheapest like the Warwick Red ones are certainly the best choice for this particular situation. Even the brand name sold by Music Store or Thomann will do the work for even less money.
