SpondonBassed Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 Before I put up a wanted ad in the appropriate section I wanted to ask those in the forum with experience of Hohner B2As; Are the standard bridges interchangeable with the drop tuner bridges? I would like to have the option to play in D and not spend time fine tuning on changes between E and D. Quote
Cuzzie Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 this is how it looks on mine if that is any help? Its prob the same size 1 Quote

It does look similar. I measured the mounting screw centres at 15mm, 60mm from screw one to screw five. If there is no part of the drop mechanism let into the body, it looks like a straight swap might be possible. I'd love to hear from anyone who's heard of it being done successfully. Quote
SpondonBassed Posted August 4, 2019 Author Posted August 4, 2019 @Cuzzie Does yours have an XLR OUT in addition to the jack socket? Quote
SpondonBassed Posted August 4, 2019 Author Posted August 4, 2019 Can you see if your mounting holes match-up please? 1 hour ago, SpondonBassed said: I measured the mounting screw centres at 15mm, 60mm from screw one to screw five. Quote

Swapsies - not after popping the EMG’s in which was that photo, I did some soldering as the solderless wires were linking and were too long! I did have a B2 passive in white - I will try for find a photo if I can to compare, but I think they were about the same Quote
Cuzzie Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 I know my earlier is a slight angle, but they look pretty similar Quote
Cuzzie Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 I reckon being licensed it will all match up - I hope!! Quote
SpondonBassed Posted August 4, 2019 Author Posted August 4, 2019 Cheers Cuzzie. Thanks for the helpful responses. Enjoy your holidays. Quote
LeftyJ Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Hohner has a rather excellent online shop for spare parts: http://www.hohner-cshop.de/en/Guitar/Headless-Bass-Series/Basses-Bass-Headless-BB/Hohner-B2ADB-Headless/ Looks like there are no D-tuner bridges in stock though. Only for the headed models. 1 Quote
SpondonBassed Posted August 5, 2019 Author Posted August 5, 2019 I was looking at another Hohner cshop web-page where bridges were priced between 109 and 129 Euro. I've lost the link for now but in any case I was not wanting to spend that much if a cheaper second hand one was available. Quote
